Victoria and Kenny met while in High School and have continued to write their love story. They enjoy a good dinner at their favorite spot, Torchy’s Tacos, and usually catch a new movie at the Paradiso. They’re young and in-love, adventurous and funny. We can’t wait for their wedding next year!
Erika and Kyle met during the pandemic and immediately clicked. They are so fun-loving and enjoy spending time outdoors and with their pups, Knox and Murphy. We had a great time hanging out in the beautiful Overton Park and the unique Broad Ave District, dodging traffic and crowds.
One of the super fun things about being a wedding photographer is hearing how couples met. Most the stories involve a series of life choices that align two individual paths into one. For Katie and Archer, it took a Memphis girl and a boy from Texas going to the same dental school for them to meet. So many different choices in life could have been made by both but I know they both thank the Lord daily that Archer found his way to Memphis and they found one another! Because Memphis played such a huge role in their personal story, they made sure to incorporate it into their wedding weekend. From the custom table cards with Elvis lyrics to their first dance song, the wedding showcased our amazing city. We are so glad that this city brought these two together because they are perfect for one another. You can see it clearly by the joy they both radiant when together. I don’t think I’ve seen a couple smile as much as they do when they are together!! We were so honored to get to capture that joy and to get to see their friends and family surround them with arms open and full of deep love!!
When we first met with Zakiya to talk about her marriage to Brandon, there was something about her spirit that radiated through the screen. Even over Zoom we could tell how much she loved Brandon and the excitement she had for the upcoming wedding.
One the wedding day, we got to see first hand that spirit of calmness, peace, and joy that not only Zakiya had but also Brandon. They had found the one that their souls were longing for and it was clearly evident to all who know them.
Everything about their day was about one word, intentionality. They decided to have a very intimate wedding ceremony and reception, focusing not just on the celebration of their union but also the importance of their faith in each of their lives and their joined lives. Their wedding ceremony was not just a marriage of two but a worship service honoring the God who had brought them through so much.
As their friends toasted them during their brunch style reception, we heard story after story of how Zakiya and Brandon are better together than apart, how they strengthen one another to be the best version of themselves, how they support one another’s dreams and passions, how they both light up when the other enters the room. It was an honor to hear such amazing tributes to their individual character and their partnership.
Sunday, as a rare Memphis snow fell outside, Brittany and Eric had one of the best weddings we’ve been a part of. They surrounded themselves with their families and friends and celebrated like there was no tomorrow. There were tears shed during letter writing, first looks, the bedeken, and chuppah ceremony but they were all happy tears and quickly followed up with smiles and laughter. The couple danced the night away and were serenaded by family and a guest appearance by Elvis 😉 The one thing that was clear throughout the entire day is that Brittany and Eric deeply love one another and have found joy in their relationship! But I’ll stop talking as the photographs speak volumes for me!
