Hillary & David : A Life Portrait

Hillary & David : A Life Portrait

Savannah and I are excited to unveil an idea that is over a year in the making: Life Portraits. We approached Hillary and David – a young couple, both artists, with a new puppy – to try something new. And we are very excited to show you what we ended up with:

So what is a Life Portrait session? Simply put, a Life Portrait is a creative documentary that displays the beauty of your life and lifestyle through both photography and film. You can think of a Life Portrait as starting where a traditional portrait session leaves off. While a traditional portrait captures you during a special milestone in your life, a Life Portrait captures why the milestone is meaningful. It is a way to document, celebrate, cherish, and pass down a special season of your life in a deeper way than a traditional portrait allows.

It’s a great and unique way to celebrate an engagement, anniversary, a personal achievement, or just a sweet time for you as a couple! Feel free to contact us for more info.

Barbara and Dave: Day After

Barbara and Dave: Day After

For Barbara and Dave’s Day After session they decided to go with a more casual approach instead of wearing their wedding attire. And that was a great idea because it was freezing the day that did their session. They were such great sports braving the cold… Memphis winters are a lot colder than the Southern California winters. We definitely wanted to be on the plane with them as they headed back to their home in California 🙂

We spent the afternoon running around downtown and going to some special places for Barbara and Dave. They had their wedding rehearsal dinner at Felicia Suzanne’s on Main and then spent their first few nights as a married couple at the Harbor Town Inn on Harbor Town. It was great fun going back to these places that were so special to them. Enjoy a little look at their session:

Abby and Stephen: Day After Session

Abby and Stephen: Day After Session

Hold my head inside your hands,
I need someone who understands.
I need someone, someone who hears,
For you, I’ve waited all these years.

For you, I’d wait ’til kingdom come.
Until my day, my day is done.
And say you’ll come, and set me free,
Just say you’ll wait, you’ll wait for me.

In your tears and in your blood,
In your fire and in your flood,
I hear you laugh, I heard you sing,
“I wouldn’t change a single thing.”

The wheels just keep on turning,
The drummers begin to drum,
I don’t know which way I’m going,
I don’t know what I’ve become.

For you, I’d wait ’til kingdom come,
Until my days, my days are done.
Say you’ll come and set me free,
Just say you’ll wait, you’ll wait for me.

Our love was lost
And now we found, it
Our love was lost
And hope was gone

Our love was lost
But now we found, it
And if you flash your heart
I won’t deny it

I promise

Your walls that run
To cold to touch, yeah
Your walls I rub
To hard to climb

I know its hard
But I can still hear it beating
So if you flash your heart
I won’t mistreat it

I promise

Our, love, was lost
In the rumor around the things
You, You’ve been dreaming of
Keep me in mind
When your ready
I am here
To take you every-time

I Promise

Jennifer and D Jay: Day After Session

Jennifer and D Jay: Day After Session

All week we worried about the weather. The previous two weeks had been filled with torrential downpours and a cold fronts. But the day of our shoot with Jennifer and D Jay turned out to be one of the most delightful spring days we have experienced this  season.

We had a blast with Jennifer and D Jay celebrating their upcoming elopement. They brought along Jennifer’s daughter Chloe for some family portraits. Little Chloe wasn’t as thrilled about picture as her parents were 🙂 For this session we had a great time utilizing the outdoors as well as a special location that we picked based on D Jay’s wedding ring. His ring is made up of gears and has a fun feature where it actually lets you move the bands with the gears. Taking that his rings is extremely unique we had to have a location that was just as unique. For the second part of their session we had fun playing around in an old bank vault.

Hope you enjoy their images! Here is a little look into their session:
