Stephanie, Jeff, and their families celebrated their marriage at the historic Graceland Chapel in the Woods. The gorgeous weather and quaint atmosphere was perfect for their intimate ceremony. Stephanie’s son took his responsibility as Ring Bearer very seriously and did a fabulous job! The bond him and Stephanie have is really special and the happiness on his face to see his mom so happy was priceless! Congratulations to you all!

Tara and Craig were one of the many sweet couples that have postponed their wedding again and again, hoping that the impact of the pandemic would have minimized to be able to celebrate with their extended family and friends. And while it’s difficult to imagine such an incredible milestone in life without a large celebration, these two were full of love and were at ease with their intimate courthouse wedding. Between the rain showers we snuck around Downtown and made sure to drop by their house for an official new family photo with their dogs. It was a memorable celebration and there is no doubt in my mind that Tara and Craig will be able to face whatever life throws at them! Congratulations to these beautiful families!

Amanda and Jake after all. That was their wedding hashtag and it is so fitting on many levels. They first met and dated in high school. In his vows, Jake mentioned the first time Amanda game him attention and he thought that she simply hung the moon. Then life took them each separate ways, Time and years eventually brought them back together and it was finally right for them to be together forever!
From the beginning of their wedding planning, the plan was always to have a full wedding but with just the two of them. They wanted to have all the special moments and they knew that spending the day just as a couple was exactly what they wanted.
So they did just that! Maybe a couple weeks after originally planned, because what is a wedding in 2020 without a little pivoting thanks to Covid :). They literally spent the entire day together and every little detail was absolutely perfect for them! They got ready together and this is a first for us but we really really loved it! Watching Jake admire Amanda while she had her make up done showed how even the small moments together are enjoyable for them! And as they helped each other get dressed you could see the joy and giddiness in their eyes.

Jackie and Christopher joke that it was f-ing Bumble that brought them together but you can clearly see that it was the universe that orchestrated their path’s crossing!
These two match each other perfectly and are each other’s equal. Jackie told us that in Christopher she finds someone who is completely confident in who he is and he isn’t put off by her career as a vascular surgeon. When Jackie had to leave abruptly during their first date for an emergency surgery, Christopher simply responded “Go do good shit babe!” He gets how demanding her job is but also understand that she is tending to the flock and healing them. You see they both have high callings in their careers (Christopher is a former member of the special forces and now is part of the explosive detection canine unit) and see their careers not just as jobs but a calling to serve and protect those around them. Because of the nature of their callings, both understand that the little things in life can’t drag you down. They both deal first hand with death and understand that focusing on the bigger picture is what makes life enjoyable and worthwhile! It is how they can travel and have things go wrong and not be bothered by it. It is how they can be cool as cucumbers on their wedding day when it is pouring rain. It is how they enjoy everyday together and don’t take anything for granted! They compliment one another and push each other to be the best they can be!!
Their intimate elopement took place this past weekend at the cutest Airbnb on the South Bluffs of Memphis. They surrounded themselves with Jackie’s amazing kids, a dear friend, and Montana, Christopher’s canine partner who is just as much a part of the family. From getting ready to the sparklers at the end, the day was perfect! They focuses on making the day about their love, their love for the children, celebrating joining their families, and promising to be a team in this life. Through watching Christopher help Jackie’s son Sammy get ready and work so hard to make sure the decorations were hung perfectly, we got to see a glimpse at the man that Jackie was marrying. And as Jackie got ready with Jesslyn and her friend Panda, we saw her free spirit that also is attentive to details. She is type A but at the same time approachable and relaxed. As Christopher like to say, she is a BAMF 🙂
There is a peace that surrounds her when she is with Christopher and we got to see that first hand when they had their first look. Her eyes lit up as she approached her groom and Christopher’s face broke out into the biggest smile as he heard his bride! As we walked to the river for portraits the two of them were glowing with happiness, the time was finally perfect to be married! And you guys, their vows. I wish we had a recording of the personalized vows they both wrote. Not only did they promise to love one another but they vowed to protect and guide their family and specifically spoke to both Panda, Sammy, and Jesslyn. They know that they are stronger as a collective group!!
We seriously cannot stop thinking about Jackie and Christopher’s day and how perfect it was for them!! Thank you both for allowing us to be a part of such a special time in your family’s history!!

We are excited to share with you all Rob and Brooke’s portraits! They eloped earlier this month in a private ceremony. They are intentional people and really wanted to make that time solely about the two of them. But they also wanted to make sure they documented this time in their life! So we met up with them a week later at Shelby Farms Park to capture some meaningful portraits for them. We had so much fun just hanging out with them!
Like Two Pieces of a Puzzle
When we met with Rob and Brooke, the one thing that stuck out most about them was they felt at home with one another. There was a comfort and peace that they share – as Rob put it, “We just click.” They both have a sarcastic sense of humor and are introverted (which we can relate to that!). And even when their personalities differ they are in sync! Brooke is a go-getter and resilient. She has been living on her own since she was 18 and, as Rob puts it, is always looking two steps ahead. Resilience requires foresight. Brooke, in everything she does, takes it on with diligence. It’s exactly these values that Rob admires most about her. He even said it is his motivation!
Rob doesn’t just sit around while Brooke is going after life. Brooke even mentioned that Rob’s sense of humor keeps her grounded. He can talk about the most random things and still make her laugh. But Rob is really trying to recenter her – and he does it well! With a willingness to take on any load Brooke might have, he supports her and gives her strength to face whatever is in front of them. They have this beautiful chemistry where Brooke being that motivational energy for their relationship and Rob being that steady force for them to rely on.
We had such a great time with you, Brooke and Rob! We cannot wait to see what the future holds for you two! Oh and tell Stella and Meeku “Hi!” for us 🙂

When Melissa and EJ contacted us to photograph their intimate backyard elopement and reception, we knew it would be right up our alley! But once we met with them, we HAD to shoot it. These two have a relationship that is full of laughter, admiration, and love, and their families were so supportive and caring! Plus, their two little girls kind of stole our hearts. Melissa and EJ, thanks for letting us be a apart of your special weekend!
