We love being a part of small intimate wedding ceremonies!! Friday we joined Melissa and EJ as they had a casual backyard wedding ceremony with their immediate family and friends and then celebrated with them on Saturday evening during their cocktail reception. The beauty of intimate events is we get to be close to the emotions and action, like when their daughter Madison started to cry during their vows 🙂 These two were a blast to work with and we loved seeing how much chemistry they have together! Here is just a little preview from their weekend!

There are some weddings that really make us stop and remember why we are wedding photographers. Brooke and Hunter’s elopement was one of those weddings that touched our hearts deeply. Together with their immediate family, they had a simple ceremony in the woods of Shelby Farms. There was such a special intimacy in those woods as the family joined hands in prayer around the couple as they joined their lives together and started a new family. I had to fight back huge tears as I was reminded that even the simplest of weddings mean so much to the couple. With the pressures of having the perfect Pinterest wedding these days or topping your friend’s wedding, you can easily forget about the root of the wedding: the joining of two hearts. I’ve never seen a couple so happy to be newlywed! To top the day off the couple did a gender reveal for their family and found out that a little girl would be joining their new family! Brooke and Hunter thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of such a special time in your lives! You’ve shown us that no matter the location or budget, love prevails!
