We had the best time with Chandler and Frank for their Forever Session! The weather was relatively cool for a typical summer night in Memphis. And we loved that they wanted to have the session at Shelby Farms Park! In our opinion, there is no better place to photograph an evening session in Memphis. The sunsets are almost always magical, it is so dog friendly (because we always want to photograph your dog!), and there is so much space that it is always easy to find something fun and new in those fields. And it turned out to be just a great evening filled with wonderful light and lovely connection between these two.
What we love about Chandler and Frank is not only their easy going personalities but also their open relationship. And what we mean by that is that there are no guarded walls between them. They both told us that they feel accepted and listened to when they are with each other. They value one another’s opinions and views on their life. There is a teamwork aspect to their relationship that feels natural and organic. And each of them bring their own impact to their relationship!
Chandler loves the security and trust that Frank brings to her world. Frank is always looking out for Chandler’s needs! Whether it is a simple compliment or his uncanny ability to predict what she needs ahead of time, that love and care brings that trust and security to her life. She knows she is his and that breeds confidence in her own life. As their relationship grows and continues so does that confidence. And with that confidence Chandler is more free to be herself. It’s a beautiful gift that Frank selflessly gives Chandler!
And for Frank, Chandler is always present for him. From naturally getting along with his friends to giving Frank the space to be himself, Chandler gives Frank maybe the best gift that anyone can give another person – total acceptance. Frank told us that Chandler has never asked him to be something he is not. Even when days are hard, he is able to unload to a welcoming and listening Chandler. This gives him that confidence and love for her, which in turn brings more security and trust to Chandler. Their relationship is a beautiful circle of confirmation.
And it was also amazing to Belle there! Belle, their sweet Beagle, kind of stole the show while she was around. Belle is a great example of their teamwork mentality to their relationship. They both get to tackle that responsibility together. And they love having that shared best friend in Belle! Plus, Beagle’s are just so dang cute! How can you not love having such a beautiful energy around?
Chandler and Frank, thanks so much for letting us in to capture your wonderful relationship! We cannot wait for your wedding that’s just around the corner!

Cheers,

If there is one word to describe these two it would be driven! We hear a lot that finding someone like yourself – same hobbies and temperament – can be a God-send in a marriage and with these two you get that. When you have two career-minded, always on the go people a Forever Session really helps them to press pause and recenter. During our discovery calls with both of them, we could tell that they stopped for the first time in a while to really center in on what makes their relationship so unique. And we love being able to help couples do that!
We could tell their love is always strong. And the way they express that love is most commonly through doing things together. Whether its working out at the gym or getting Mexican food, they just love to do life together! Traynor brings a relaxed and steady hand to the always-going Jessica. And Jessica helps Traynor not get so bogged down in work and remember to have fun in life. And underlying it all is their common self-confidence and independence. It really is a great relationship!
There is so much more to share about these two and we will soon because their wedding is only a few days away! But for now, we will leave you with some fun photos!

Cheers!

For this Forever Session we got to feel like kids again! Who doesn’t love a Carousel and the Zoo? When Delaine suggested these two places for her and Kevin’s session we were so happy to explore these places with these two. And we really mean the “with these two” part! We had fun joking around with them the entire session at design consult. And we have learned that this is just part of who they are as a couple. They both are relaxed when with each other. And they both are emboldened to be their selves when they are with each other.
What Delaine loves about Kevin is that he is supportive and sees their life together as a team effort – it is their journey. For Delaine, there is so much security in that. No matter what happens he will be with her to help her through it. And Kevin has loves just how loving and sacrificial she is. She surprises him day in and day out with her sacrificial love towards him. To know that your partner puts you ahead of themselves is such a beautiful mixture of love, humility, and accountability. Kevin sees this and 100% wants to live up to that example!
So they both are about supporting each other. And that’s a wonderful thing to witness. Kevin and Delaine, can’t wait for your wedding and hanging out with you guys some more!

It was a beautiful Spring evening filled with laughter, goofing off, and just enjoying life. That is the best way to describe this Forever Session. Liz and Colin truly just want to have a good time with one another as much as possible and it is so refreshing to see! They are best friends as well as lovers.
One thing they both mentioned to us separately is what it means to be in love with your best friend. They both said that there is nothing either one can do that will make the other stop loving them. They give each other freedom to be themselves, to be goofy, even imperfect. Which this means they give each other life. A life free of judgement. A life based on openness and acceptance.
And this is not to say they have not been through hard times. They have been through hard, sad times with family but that is when they grew close. Colin, when he was having a hard time losing a loved one, found Liz right there. She shared his grief, anger, and pain. He said he always felt like she was on his side and ready to take on whatever she needed to for him. How amazing is it to have someone like THAT in your life?!
There is so much more to share about these two, but guess what… their wedding is THIS WEEKEND! So we will have even more to share, but for now, enjoy their session from the beautiful Overton Park!

Cheers!

“We’re just a happy family!” is what we kept hearing when we talked with this family before the shoot. And this is easily apparent once you meet Shona, the first grandchild of this family. Sudi and Max, Shona’s parents, both have taken on being parents while also taking on their professional careers. And as Supriya (Sudi’s sister) told us, “Sudi is a great mom, and the brightest person I know!” Being a doctor and mom can be challenging, but Brojo and Nima taught their daughter’s to embrace challenges. And it shows. Sudi handles this new chapter in her life with grace. And it helps to have a great partner in Max. She mentioned that one of her favorite things about Max that she has learned to appreciate even more now that Shona is here is Max’s initiative to get involved and to bring the energy to life when they both need it. Max and Shona have a close relationship and it is in large part to Max’s natural tendency to show care.
It was also great to meet Supriya and Richard. As we learned about their relationship, we learned that they give each other freedom to focus on their careers. They are both naturally this way so they understand one another and support one another to get to the next level. Richard is stable and solid in this endeavor. Supriya mentioned how he is so knowledgeable and has a work ethic that astounds her! And this keeps them moving forward to their goals. Is there a better way to show love to your partner than to push them forward? And Supriya clearly brings the fun and energy to the whole family. Her smile is infectious and she is always looking for a way to bring smiles to others – especially little Shona.
And little Shona! This wide eyed, happy boy is the love of the whole family! Everyone told us he was a happy boy, but we were still shocked about how happy he was when we met him. And it is that smile that everyone loves. For Max, it shows him that Shona is becoming his own person and as he babbles and smiles, he sees a boy wanted to communicate that joy! For Sudi, that smile shows an openness he has to the world. He will smile to complete strangers. This innocence is beautiful but fleeting. This are the things we wish our kids will hold on to!
And all of this is a reality because of Brojo and Nima. They can be proud in the family they have nurtured. Their girls are happily married, and growing their careers. They have two sons now in Max and Richard that their girls picked because of their influence in finding the right type of person to marry. And it is clear Max and Richard exceed any expectations they had! And now Shona is starting a new generation. They have a lot to be thankful for and have two generations undoubtedly thanking them for their hard work!
Now on to the photos of this beautiful family (plus the wall art we designed of Shona for Sudi and Max!)

And here is that wall art we designed for Max and Sudi’s home! We love how this metal collage print shows all the faces of Shona!

Cheers!

We first photographed the Baddorf family when they welcomed Charlie into the family. So when little Millie was born we couldn’t wait to photograph this growing family again! And we really love this family.
Bryan and Rachel are team players. There are no preconceived ideas about their roles or responsibilities. They both just step in when needed to help foster their house into a loving home. And this how they show their love to one another the clearest in this stage of life. When you add a second child, being teammates as parents becomes invaluable! And it doesn’t take long to be around this family to see that Bryan and Rachel’s love for one another is glue for the whole family.
It was also amazing to see Charlie becoming his own, especially as it relates to Millie. When Bryan told us that he was really embracing the idea of being a big brother, we had no idea how true that statement would be! He loves to hold her, talk to her, and help her. He such a sweet boy. And as he grows more independent he also grows more aware of what is important – it is so fun to see that happen before your eyes! And little Millie. She is a face making machine! A happy and cuddly baby. She has the prettiest eyes and softest hair. And she has a family that adores her!
As you can tell, we really like this family and love it when we get to hang out with them and help them celebrate their growing family!

Cheers!
