Kelly and Blake : An Intimate Backyard and Central Train Station Wedding
When Kelly thought of her wedding day, she never imagined she would be having it without her mom and dad. Earlier this year both her parents passed away from cancer just months apart from each other. To experience such an immense loss so close together can be utterly devastating to a person. But what is amazing about Kelly is that she was able to start healing from the grief because she had Blake by her side. From Blake she drew strength and power to look forward to the future that they had together; without him, she wouldn’t be here today. Blake provided support and encouragement as Kelly was tending to both her sick parents. As she was a caregiver to her parents Blake got to see her true character, genuine warmth, a caring heart, and strength to overcome. Just a couple weeks after Kelly’s mom passed Blake took her to New Orleans and at a wishing fountain he proposed to her; their future together as a couple was born out of the mutual support they gave each other in hard times.
From their first date, they knew it was meant to be. A simple date turned into an entire weekend spent together. Each of their families loved them deeply and saw them being more complete people when they were together. Blake mentioned to us that the first time he laid eyes on Kelly, that she had a glow around her that was welcoming and he wanted to have as part of his life; she was magical and unreal.
Blake and Kelly’s day was filled with deep emotions. While her parents couldn’t physically be there on the day, they were there in spirit! Kelly wore her mother’s veil and Blake’s mom made special pillows for her mom and dad so they would be represented.
For Kelly and Blake, their wedding was a time of healing for her and her family. They surrounded themselves with their dearest friends and family members and during their vows there wasn’t a dry eye around, especially from Kelly’s stepdad. Blake’s Aunt Laura and Uncle Alan performed the ceremony and added such a wonderful personal touch to the day. As they made a wish together at their own wishing well in their backyard you could see the hope of a bright future for the couple.
Kelly and Blake, thank you so much for allowing us to partake in such an incredibly intimate wedding. You both showed such amazing strength that day as you let your true emotions out. We know that you are better together and the future is full of endless opportunities for you as a couple. Here wishing you never cease to love one another with the deep passionate love that started your relationship.
Cheers,
Savannah and Philip
