Whitney and Jason: Day After Session {Memphis Wedding Photographers}

Whitney and Jason: Day After Session {Memphis Wedding Photographers}

One of the things we love most about our job is getting to know our clients on a personal level and watching their marriage grow. When we shoot Day After sessions we get to reconnection with a bride and groom and see them enjoying newlywed life. Philip and I still consider ourselves to be newlyweds and absolutely love being in this stage of marriage, we hope it never goes away! When we see other couples enjoying marriage as much as we do, it makes us smile deep down.

For Whitney and Jason’s day after session we wanted to do something completely different than our other day after sessions. We took a much more relaxed approach and shot the first part of their session in their first home. For the next part we brought out the car that Whitney and Jason used as their get away from their wedding. Whit’s dad built this car and it is so adorable! One of the best parts was watching Jason learn how to drive a stick shift 🙂 After that little adventure we found the perfect field with tall grass and beautiful light. Whit told us when we first met about their wedding that she loved tall wavy grass and wanted to incorporate that into their pictures. We finally got their tall grass!
Enjoy!

Brandon and Aubra: Day After Session

Brandon and Aubra: Day After Session

We have been waiting for weeks to show these images! Day after sessions are some of our absolute favorites! We get the chance to create beautiful images of a couple in love without the stress of a wedding day. We also get to use multiple locations that might not be accessible on a wedding day. Philip and I both thrive in nature and when we have the chance to great images based on the outdoors we get super excited. Our goal is to create art for a couple’s home, art that includes them in the images.

For Audra and Brandon’s day after session we knew of a couple places that we really wanted to use and we were so excited that the Shepherds were up for everything we threw at them. And we threw a lot, like climbing down a ravine and then up a steep hill, walking half miles across fields, getting in super tall weeds, shoving through bamboo, and running across a cotton field to catch the last rays of the sun set. But thankfully it was all worth it 🙂

Here is a look into their day after session!

Last but not least, one of our all time favorite images:

Whitney and Jason: After Session Sneak Peek {Memphis Wedding Photographers}

Whitney and Jason: After Session Sneak Peek {Memphis Wedding Photographers}

For Whitney and Jason’s After the Wedding Session we wanted to do something completely different from our normal Day After sessions. We really wanted their session to show their life as newlyweds. Since their wedding we have become really great friends with Whit and Jason, something about them just clicked with us. Philip and Jason have spent many hours together writing and recording music. Whit and I both have a love for projects and making our homes uniquely ours. Our friendship with them has actually inspired us to get to know all our couples on a deeper level and go beyond just being photographers. As we get to know our couples better we have a greater insight into their love for one another and are able to capture their love in an intimate way.

For Whitney and Jason we have seen how much of their love for one another is based upon laughter and the simplicity of just being together. A painting in their home is what inspired us for their session: Living simply makes love simple. Here is a tiny look into the first part of their day after session:

Cheers,

Savannah and Philip
